WORK EXPERIENCE :-During my studentship and Now in the field of Dogra folk :I am the son of a great former and an EX-Serviceman {who faught the battle of 1962 , 1965 and 1971 } and prepared me to work hard in the field of agriculture as well as education . As my father has no more source of income so i also worked as a labourer during the vacation period of my studentship. I got the talent of dogra folk by birth and participated in the local programmes when i was reading in the 9th class in session (1978-79).. When I was in 9th class in 1980 I arranged a Cultural Group with the Name ROMALO RAM AND PARTY and started Dogri Folk under the stricked supervision of my Father and Mother. Started Singing in the Marriage and other Functions in the different places such as Billawar , Bani ( Kathua), Udhampur , Reasi , Arnas and other regions of Jammu. I got great popularity with the contribution of party Members named - Punjabu Ram , Dharmu Ram , Mast Ram , Romal Chand , Darshan Kumar , Ishar Dass , Loku Ram , Bodh Raj , Thakur Dass and Now on a top of Dogra Folk Bhakh and geetru with the contribution of Ashok Kumar , Des Raj , Babu Ram , Madan Lal (sarpanch) , Krishan lal , Munish Varinder Singh , Tara Chand , Pawan Singh , Sushma Devi , Krishan Chand , Sars Bharti , Pooja Bharti , Ganesh Bharti , Nikhil Parshad and Ravi Badyal.Experience as a patron of Dogri Folk : From childhood , I got the great opportunity to learn the Dogri Folk from my ancestors. In 1979 I firstly performed in a local marriage function and performing till now in all the official and non-official at state level , national level and international level in which I am promoting dogra art and culture with the support of my group {ROMALO RAM AND PARTY} as well as audience because it is a great mission for me and got a great experience in the field of art and culture because near about 100 artists have learnt from me and now also they are performing independently.Experience as a dogri folk singer in All India Radio , JAMMU:In 1988 I approved as a B-grade artist in All India Radio(AIR) and in 1995 approved as B- high grade , Jammu and continued my services for up-gradation and also got a chance of up-gradation in 1995 as B-High . Also performed time to time in the so many concerts outside the state through AIR Jammu and also got great appreciations from audience as well as department.Experience as a Dogri Folk Singer and Dancer in Doordarshan National , Jammu , Jalandhar , DD Kashir : I got so many chances through these above doordashan channel to perform Dogri Folk on various stages . I also got the experience of poetry with the senior poets and writers . *MEMBER OF ADVISORY SUB COMMITTEE FOR FOLK MUSIC NOMINATED BY J&K ACADEMY OF ART AND CULTURE AND LANGUAGES :-Remained the active member of advisory sub committee for folk music and promoted the folk of PADDAR , BANIHAL , particularly the Folk of BADhOTA , PANCHARI , REASI SUJANDHAR, ARNAS , DARMARI , BAKORI KOTRANKA . DISST. RAJOURI BANI BASOHLI , BILLAWAR , DUDU, BASANTGARH. Near about 12 parties are participating under my guidelines .Also worked for the TRIBAL FOLK.*MEMBER OF GENERAL COUNCIL COMMITTEE OF JKAACL:-Active member of general council of JKAACL TO represent dogri folk music wef from 12-11-2016 and up till now.PARTICIPATIONS AT INTER-NATIONAL / NATIONAL / STATE LEVEL :- *AT INTER-NATIONAL LEVEL : 1. Participated in "THE GRAND ORCHESTRA in THE WORLD CULTURE FESTIVAL hosted by the Art of Living from 11 - 13 March 2016 at New Delhi. 2. Participated in INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR at Pragati Maidan New Delhi in 1999 and 2000 through Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages.3. Participated in INTERNATIONAL CRAFT MELA at Surajkund Haryana in 1998 through Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages and also in 2017 through North Zone Culture Centre Patiala (NZCC).4. Participated in SANSKRIT MAHA KUMBH in 2019 ar Paryagraj , U.P through North Zone Culture Centre Patiala (NZCC). 5. Participated in the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GLOBAL WARMING at Govt. Degree College Udhampur , J&K from 24 - 26 Feb. 2012.*AT NATIONAL LEVEL :-1) Participated in NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL in Lucknow , U.P from 12 to 16 January , 1999 stood Ist in the folk song competition and bagged Gold Medal for Jammu & Kashmir .2) Participated in NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL from 12 to 16 January , 2000 in Gujrat , Gandhinagar stood Ist in the folk song competition and again got Gold Medal for Jammu & Kashmir.3) Participated in RASHTRIYA YUVA UTSAVA ( NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL ) in Bhopal M.P from 12 to 16 January ,1995 in which performed guest items.4) Participated in NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL in Trivendram Kerala in 2003 in which performed guest items.5) Participated in NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL in Hisar Haryana in 2005 in which performed guest items.6) Performed in "75 years DANDI YATRA" NATIONAL INTEGRATION CAMP held at Surat Gujrat from 27 March to 07 april 2005 by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan .7) Participated in BHARAT PARV from 25 to 31 January 2017 on REPUBLIC DAY in the lap of RED FORT , New Delhi and got a lot of appreciations.8) Participated in PARYATAN PARV from 22 to 25 October 2017 at INDIA GATE , New Delhi and got a lot of appreciations.9) Participated in BHARAT PARV from 22 to 31 January 2018 on REPUBLIC DAY in the lap of RED FORT , New Delhi and got a lot of appreciations.10) Participated in NATYA SAMAGAMA FESTIVAL from 24 to 28 September 2016 at Abhinav Theater , JAMMU organised by Sangeet Natak Akademi , New Delhi in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art , Culture and Languages , Jammu.11) Participated in MATDATA MAHOUTSAV from 14 to 17 January 2016 at Canought Place , New Delhi organised by ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA.12) Participated in 2ND NATIONAL HR CONCLAVE at Indian Institute of Management College , Jammu on 30 August 2019 organised by Indian Institute of Management , Jammu.13) Participated in ALL INDIA RADIO NATIONAL SPRING FESTIVAL OF FOLK & LIGHT MUSIC in 2007 organised by All India Radio , Jammu.14) Performed in AKHIL BHARTIYA LOK KALA MAHOTSAV - 2019 organised by Karnatka Sahsa Kala academy All India Folk and Tribal Art Parishath , New Delhi and supported by Ministry of Culture Govt. of India and North Zone Cultural Center , Patiyala.15) Participated in NATIONAL INTEGRATION CAMP organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports Govt. of India at NAHAN [H.P] from 22 - 26 feb. 1995.16) Participating in NATIONAL NAVRATRA FESTIVAL , KATRA since long.17) Got chance to participate in DOGRI DRAMA {LEKHA BEHIDA} in NATIONAL DRAMA FESTIVAL at Tagore Hall Chandigarh in 1991 which was directed by Deepak Kumar .18) Performed in the program of National Integration camp.
